When the U-2 assembly line was opened for the third time in 1980, the first aircraft off the line was NASA ER-2 #706(80-1063), and she was delivered on June 1981

Currently flying at NASA Dryden Research Center, Edwards AFB, CA;
Modified to "S" specs, and returned to NASA/Ames on 28 Oct 1996
